Redeemer Tech triumphs at National AI for Good Robotics Challenge

My Redeemer School’s robotics team, Redeemer Tech, achieved a remarkable double victory. Both their Senior and Junior Teams won first place at the AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Ghana Edition.

The event took place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Academic City University. It featured talented young robotics teams from across Ghana in a competitive setting. The challenge was organized by The MakersPlace with support from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations' AI for Good initiative.

This year’s competition focused on disaster response. Teams were tasked with designing robotic solutions for real-world emergencies. Their projects aimed to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Redeemer Tech faced strong competitors like Adisadel College and Koforidua Secondary Technical School. They impressed judges with their AI-powered robotics solutions. Their projects included automation for early disaster detection and search-and-rescue missions.

Douglas Ayitey, Founder & CEO of The MakersPlace, praised the students’ creativity and skill. He noted that the level of innovation was truly inspiring. “We are proud to see young Ghanaians solving global challenges with technology,” he said.

As national champions, Redeemer Tech qualified for the Global Grand Finale in May 2025. This event will be held in Geneva during the AI for Good Global Summit. Winning teams from around the world will showcase their solutions there.

My Redeemer School has invested long-term in STEM education. Robotics and coding have been taught since Grade 1 five years ago. This foundation has fostered applied technology and innovation among students.

The 2025 Ghana Edition of the Robotics for Good Challenge welcomed all eager students and teams. It celebrated technical skills while emphasizing collaboration and real-world impact.

Congratulations to all participating teams for their dedication! Special congratulations to Redeemer Tech for becoming national winners! Ghana will proudly represent itself on the global stage in Geneva!
