Reliable power crucial for 24-hour economy - Asantehene

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged investors to support Ghana’s energy sector. He believes this sector is crucial for the government’s 24-hour economy plan.

He pointed out that a reliable power supply is essential. Without it, continuous productivity will face major challenges.

The Asantehene made these comments during a meeting with Dream Power Africa. This solar energy firm met with him on Wednesday, May 21, at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

He praised the company’s interest in renewable energy. He emphasized the need for strategic investments in electricity, especially in underserved areas.

“Currently, the government talks about a 24-hour economy,” he said. “For it to succeed, energy must be available in rural areas.”

Industries also need reliable power to operate efficiently. Expanding access to energy will boost economic activity and national growth.

He highlighted the importance of inclusive energy distribution. Rural communities should not be neglected in this effort.

“So, from a wider perspective, it will all help develop this country,” he remarked. He called for continued collaboration between the private sector and government to improve Ghana’s energy infrastructure.
