Nana Yaw Barima Barnie is the Regional Communications Manager for Ghana Water Limited (GWL). He urged residents facing water supply issues to report them directly to GWL offices.
Barnie spoke on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on April 18. He emphasized the need for community engagement in solving water problems. His comments came after a report about water scarcity in Greater Accra Region.
Many communities in Greater Accra are experiencing erratic water supply. Residents have expressed frustration over how this affects their daily lives. Some are now relying on expensive private water vendors.
In Nungua, especially around Leisure Street, the situation is critical. Local food vendors and small business owners are spending heavily to stay operational.
Barnie reassured residents that GWL is ready to help with reported issues. He encouraged them to use GWL’s customer service offices across the region.
“If your water is not flowing, please come to our office,” he said. “There is always an office nearby for complaints.”
After receiving complaints, GWL will follow up and provide assistance. Barnie acknowledged the vital role of water in daily life and urged residents to reach out for help when needed.
