Representing Chief Justice Torkonoo is not a sign of NPP alignment – Godfred Dame

Godfred Yeboah Dame, the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, has spoken out. He represents suspended Chief Justice Torkonoo. He insists this does not indicate alignment with the NPP.

Dame explained that his actions reflect his commitment to defending the Judiciary. This commitment has defined his career from the start. He spoke about this on JOY FM.

He stated, “It is time to stand for what is right.” He believes misleading the public must be corrected. His current actions align with everything he has done since becoming Attorney General.

Dame emphasized that it’s not just about Justice Torkonoo. It’s about fighting unwarranted attacks on the judiciary. He claims these attacks are part of a calculated effort by the NDC government.

He also rejected any suggestions of illegality in his actions. “Good men must speak for righteousness,” he said. He believes he has consistently defended the judiciary since his appointment.

Meanwhile, Kwaku Ansa-Asare, former Director of the Ghana School of Law, commented on Torkonoo's situation. He accused her and her legal team of trying to disrupt lawful processes. Ansa-Asare argued that their injunction undermines the Constitution.

He described their efforts as mere barking without real bite.
