Research and innovation: Let’s complement donor support… Pres Mahama to African countries

President John Dramani Mahama has urged African countries to support research and innovation.

He emphasized the need for budgetary allocations to reduce reliance on donor funds. This will help avoid disruptions if donors withdraw their support.

Speaking at the Africa Centres of Excellence (ACE) conference in Accra, he noted that depending too much on donor funds is not sustainable.

President Mahama stated that ensuring ACE's sustainability is a shared responsibility. He called for a commitment to build strong foundations for long-term impacts.
