Residents rush to collect leaking fuel from tanker despite explosion risk

Panic erupted today when a fuel tanker began leaking in an unidentified community. Residents rushed to the scene with pans and containers to collect the spilling fuel.

Eyewitnesses reported that some young people gathered quickly. They scooped up the highly flammable liquid despite the danger.

Fuel gushed from underneath the tanker, creating large pools on the ground. One resident warned others not to bring any naked flames near the site. Ironically, he joined in collecting fuel while giving this warning.

“Don’t bring fire here!” he cautioned as he filled his pan.

This incident raises serious safety concerns. It recalls past tragedies like the 2015 Accra flood and explosion disaster, which killed over 150 people when leaking fuel ignited at a filling station.

Authorities have not released an official statement yet. Safety experts warn against approaching fuel tankers during spills due to explosion risks. Emergency services are expected to secure the area to prevent ignition or further chaos.
