Respect earlier agreement or refund cost for purchasing foodstuffs - School Feeding Caterers to gov't

A group called the Progressive School Feeding Caterers Association is urging the government. They want the government to honor their agreement. This agreement would allow contracts to continue until the end of the 2024/2025 academic year. Alternatively, they seek a refund for food purchases made for the third term.

At a press conference, President Gifty Asamoah spoke on behalf of the members. She said they bought foodstuffs based on the government's earlier promise.

"We are not asking for contract renewal," she clarified. "We just want permission to cook until the academic year ends." This would help them access their unpaid wages.

The caterers argue that ending their contracts without honoring this agreement will cause financial strain. Many have taken loans to buy food supplies.

Some caterers pointed out that previous administrations honored contracts until completion. They urged, "Let's finish the third term and then hand over." They emphasized that students are currently not receiving meals due to this situation.
