Retain current leadership in ninth parliament – Majority to NPP

Following the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) significant defeat in the 2024 General Elections, which will see the party relegated to the minority in the 9th Parliament, the leadership of Parliamentary Committees from the majority caucus has appealed to the National Council of the NPP to retain the current leadership.

Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah, Chairman of the Education Committee, emphasized the importance of experienced leaders to navigate the challenges ahead.

He argued that maintaining the existing leadership would benefit the party, given their familiarity with parliamentary proceedings and their ability to handle the increased opposition in the next Parliament.
