Reverse decision removing CEO of TTH  … Minority Caucus charges

The Minority Health Caucus wants the immediate reversal of Dr. Adam Atiku's dismissal. They call it “unlawful, void, and of no effect.”

Dr. Atiku was removed as CEO of the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Tuesday. This followed an unannounced visit by the Minister to the hospital. During this visit, he confronted staff about poor infrastructure and equipment. Issues included non-functional ventilators, diagnostic tools, and MRI machines. A recent patient death was linked to a lack of working ventilators.

The caucus claims that the dismissal was done without following due process. They say it violates legal frameworks for teaching hospitals in Ghana.

These concerns were shared in a press statement released yesterday. The statement came after Dr. Atiku’s removal was announced and confirmed by the Minister.
