Revoking Nyaho-Tamakloe's 'founding member' status likely to be considered at NPP NEC meeting - JFK

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has distanced the party from Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe's recent comments. He warned that Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe could face disciplinary action. This may include revoking his status as a founding member.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe criticized the party’s leadership over the arrest of Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi. He stated that the party currently "has no leadership."

In an interview on JoyNews, Mr. Kodua expressed disappointment in Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe’s behavior. He argued that such comments do not reflect the values expected from a founding member.

Mr. Kodua said, “As a founding member, we expect him to provide wise counsel.” He added that being disruptive is not typical for a founding member.

He noted that the NPP needs positive energy during this critical time. The party is focused on internal reorganization and national cohesion ahead of the 2024 elections.

Mr. Kodua revealed that this issue will be discussed at the upcoming National Council meeting. Disciplinary actions may include stripping Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe of his founding member status.

“This is something I intend to pursue at our next meeting,” he stated. “We don’t need this type of behavior right now.”
