Richard Ofori-Agyemang Boadi Confirmed as Kumasi Mayor

Richard Ofori-Agyemang Boadi is the new Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA). He has issued a warning to traders. They must clear pavements in the Central Business District and Central Market.

This directive comes before a decongestion exercise starting next week. After his confirmation on April 10, Boadi announced plans for this operation. He stated it would not involve the military but use innovative methods.

These methods aim to maintain commercial activity while reclaiming public spaces. Boadi also plans to revive stalled infrastructure projects. Key projects include the Krofrom Market and the second phase of Central Market redevelopment.

Regarding the Kejetia phase two project, he noted that contractors are on site. However, he expressed concern about the current progress. The regional minister has been working on this issue for some time.

Boadi plans to get an update from him soon. He believes that by President Mahama’s tenure end, Kejetia market will be ready.
