Ridge Hospital Appears On EOCO’s Radar?

The Greater Accra Regional Hospital

Unconfirmed reports say the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is examining documents at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (GARH). This follows recent media claims of corruption at the facility.

Sources indicate that EOCO is reopening a stalled investigation. This investigation concerns suspected theft and extortion involving some staff members and Staraid Care Limited.

The probe began on July 24, 2024, under Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah. He was the Deputy Executive Director in charge of Operations at EOCO. The investigation could not be completed before he left.

However, EOCO's new leadership is committed to pursuing this case. They aim to see it through to its conclusion.

This renewed focus comes amid further controversy for Ridge Hospital. Allegations suggest a coordinated effort to undermine its Medical Director, Rev. Dr. Ralph Armah. He has vowed to fight corruption within the institution.

Recent media attention has led EOCO to revisit the earlier investigation. This suggests a broader inquiry into potential wrongdoing at the hospital.
