In a concerted effort to resolve the delays affecting crucial cocoa road projects, Ghana's Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, alongside Joseph Boahen Aidoo, CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has established a new committee. The initiative comes in response to growing concerns over the stagnant progress of infrastructure that is vital for cocoa farmers.
During a recent meeting, both leaders acknowledged the urgent need for efficient transportation routes to enhance the livelihoods of farmers and boost the cocoa industry’s productivity. The committee will be tasked with identifying bottlenecks and implementing strategies to expedite construction on these essential roads.
Amoako-Attah emphasized that addressing these infrastructural challenges is critical not only for improving access but also for sustaining Ghana’s status as one of the world's leading cocoa producers. The collaboration between government and COCOBOD underscores a commitment to revitalizing rural economies and ensuring that farmers can transport their goods efficiently, ultimately benefiting the entire agricultural sector in Ghana.
