Root and tuber crops can help address food insecurity in Ghana.
Research scientists believe that with proper investment, Ghana can overcome its food crisis.
These crops could boost economic growth and improve public health.
This information was shared at a roundtable in Accra last Friday.
The event focused on food security, import substitution, and export promotion.
It was organized by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Ministry of Environment, Science & Technology (MESTI).
The theme was “Leveraging Science, Technology and Innovation to enhance food security.”
The roundtable aimed to engage stakeholders on strategies to improve Ghana’s food systems.
It also sought to transform agricultural production in the country.
