Row over unauthorized state funeral for Asoma Banda

A disagreement has arisen in the Abu Banda family. They are opposed to an unauthorized funeral for Alhaji Asoma Abu Banda. This ceremony is set to take place at the State House in Accra.

At a press conference, Alhaji Mohammed Abu Banda spoke on behalf of the family. He is the head of the family and Chief of Banda in the Ashanti Region. He expressed strong disapproval of the planned event, calling it unauthorized.

Alhaji Mohammed emphasized their commitment to preserving Alhaji Asoma's legacy and dignity. He stated that Alhaji Abdullah Khalifa, known as Alhaji Abomour, lacks authority for this ceremony.

He urged the public and stakeholders to ignore any unsanctioned funeral arrangements. The family intends to honor Alhaji Asoma according to his personal and religious wishes.
