Rule of law, fight against corruption project launched in Accra - Ghanaian Times

The European Union (EU) and Germany have started a three-year project. It is called “Strengthening the Rule of Law and Fight Against Corruption in Ghana.” The goal is to support good governance and promote accountability.

This project is part of the Participation, Accountability and Integrity for Resilient Democracy (PAIReD) program. It will enhance the capacity of Ghana’s judicial and law enforcement institutions. This aims to improve access to justice. It will also empower civil society and the media to hold public officials accountable.

The project has a budget of 12.7 million Euros. It is co-funded by the EU, Germany, and Switzerland. The aim is to strengthen key anti-corruption institutions. This includes actions under a revised National Anti-Corruption Action Plan.

Additionally, the project will provide tools for civil society and the media. These tools will help expose corruption in public fund usage. The initiative will educate the public about corruption and how to address it. It will also advocate for necessary changes in legislation and policy.
