S/R: Two dead in crash on Bole–Damongo highway

A tragic accident occurred on the Bole–Damongo highway. It claimed the lives of 23-year-old Dakurah Eyilisun and his mother, Alice Eyilisun. The accident happened on Saturday, May 31, 2025. It took place near the Damongo Municipal Assembly in the Savannah Region.

Eyewitnesses reported that a bus was traveling from Bole to Tamale. The bus collided with a motorbike carrying Dakurah and Alice along the roadside. Dakurah died instantly from the crash. His mother suffered serious injuries.

Chief Inspector Grace Odurowaa Boateng confirmed the incident to Channel One News. She stated that Dakurah was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Alice was initially treated at St. Anne Catholic Hospital in Damongo but later died there as well.
