The Safe For All Africa (SAFE4All) launched a climate information app today. The app, called "ChatBox," is available in selected communities in the Northern Region. It aims to provide weather information to farmers.
This initiative will transform farming practices in northern Ghana. Farmers in this area face serious climate-related challenges.
The rollout targets all five regions in the north. The initial phase will test how effective the app is. It will also assess how easily farmers can understand and use the data.
At a workshop in Accra, Associate Professor Sylvester Ayambila spoke about the app. He is from the University for Development Studies. He said the app provides critical weather information. Its goals are to enhance food security and improve farmers' livelihoods.
