The Ministry of Education, led by Haruna Iddrisu, has launched an online application portal. This portal is for first-year students in public tertiary institutions. It allows them to apply for financial assistance under the No-Fee-Stress policy.
The portal went live on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The Minister aims to improve access to higher education in Ghana. He wants to remove financial barriers that students face.
Haruna Iddrisu described the No-Fee-Stress policy as transformative and visionary. It addresses the financial constraints preventing many Ghanaian students from pursuing tertiary education.
In a statement on April 29, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) supported this initiative. They called it a strategic investment in Ghana’s human capital. The SLTF is also a key driver of inclusive and accessible higher learning.
The SLTF will lead the implementation of this policy. They are responsible for providing financial support to students at accredited institutions.
