SSNIT boss faces allegations of mismanagement and nepotism

SSNIT Director-General, Mr. Kofi Osafo Maafo, faces allegations of financial mismanagement, nepotism, and improper appointments.

Critics have questioned a GHS 245,000 donation to the Okyehene’s 25th-anniversary celebrations, claiming misuse of pension funds.

SSNIT clarified that GHS 100,000 funded a health screening program for pensioners in Akyem Abuakwa.

A GHS 96,000 rent allowance paid to Deputy Director Ms. Juliana Kpadekpo before relocating to official accommodation also sparked criticism.

SSNIT attributed the error to administrative oversight, later converting the excess into a loan.

Allegations of politically motivated appointments and sidelining experienced staff have been denied by SSNIT, which insists on adhering to merit-based processes.

Management reaffirms its commitment to transparency, integrity, and the welfare of pensioners amidst the controversy.
