The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has opened a new branch in Adentan, Greater Accra Region.
The inauguration took place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. This brings the total number of SSNIT branches to 53. Before this branch opened, customers had to visit the Legon office for services.
Last week, SSNIT also opened its 52nd branch at Spintex, Accra. This is part of their effort to improve access to social security services.
Partnership
Kwesi Afreh Biney is the Acting Director General of SSNIT. He announced that SSNIT is partnering with banks to expand its reach.
They are currently discussing partnerships with three banks for service expansion. The plan includes placing SSNIT staff in selected bank branches.
Biney stated that many banks exist in almost every district. By leveraging these partnerships, they aim to quickly add 25 to 50 service points by year-end.
He invited stakeholders to join SSNIT in improving accessibility and professionalism. A virtual branch is also planned and expected to launch by Q3 of this year.
Service
The Acting General Manager of SSNIT-Operations said the new branch will enhance service delivery for Adentan residents. This includes support for self-employed individuals in the growing community.
He emphasized that this branch reflects SSNIT's commitment to bringing services closer to the public.
Commitment
Christopher Boadi Mensah is the CEO of NPRA. In a speech delivered by Victor Azuma Mejida, he highlighted SSNIT’s commitment to accessibility and efficiency with this new branch.
He noted that this move shows SSNIT's forward-thinking approach in the pension industry. He pledged NPRA's support for continuous collaboration with SSNIT.
Mohammed Adamu Ramadan is the Member of Parliament for Adentan. He expressed excitement about having an SSNIT branch in his constituency.
Ramadan mentioned that this development offers financial security and positions SSNIT as a people-centered insurance company. He believes it benefits many self-employed workers in Adentan and surrounding areas.
