Sabon Zongo youths arrest foreigner dealing drugs in his shop

Some Zongo youth arrested a foreign national last night. This happened at his shop in Sabon Zongo, Accra. They acted on suspicion as part of a community initiative against drug peddlers.

The man wore a blue Chelsea FC jersey. He had a pump-action gun and large amounts of illicit drugs. The drugs included the synthetic opioid known as Tramadol.

After searching the shop, the youth handed the suspect to the police. Authorities will conduct further investigations into the matter.

Earlier last month, some Sabon Zongo youths raided over 20 shops in Accra. They seized several sacks containing weed, codeine, Tramadol, and other illegal drugs. Reports indicate this raid took place on Sunday, April 20.

Mohammed Hashiru is the Deputy Spokesperson for the No Drugs in Zongo Movement. He stated that they have disrupted drug activities and will return with reinforcements. If they catch anyone misbehaving next time, they will hand them over to police for prosecution.
