The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has called for unity within the party. He urged members to avoid worsening tensions after the “Thank You” tour.
Speaking to Channel One TV on Saturday, May 3, Mustapha recognized that disagreements can happen. However, he stressed that these disagreements should be handled carefully.
His comments came after former flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong withdrew from the tour. This withdrawal has led to increased factional disputes within the party.
Mustapha said, “We should not deepen the cracks.” He emphasized that it is okay to disagree but urged respectful communication.
He warned that harsh language could widen existing rifts and harm party unity.
Despite the controversy surrounding Agyapong’s departure, Mustapha remains confident about the tour's continuation. He mentioned that recent visits to Bono East and Savannah regions went well. This shows that the tour is still progressing smoothly.
