Sam George condemns Afenyo-Markin’s attack on Parliament’s Clerk

Communications Minister-Designate Sam George has criticized Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for attacking the Clerk to the Appointments Committee, Madam Gifty Jiagge Gobah.

Afenyo-Markin accused her of political bias towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a social media post, Sam George described the attack as "despicable" and "misogynistic," arguing that the clerk’s 18 years of service deserve respect.

He urged Parliament’s Clerk, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, to escalate the matter to Speaker Alban Bagbin.

Sam George linked the incident to the recent passage of the Affirmative Action Law, stating that such conduct should not be tolerated.

He commended Gobah’s composure under pressure, calling her a role model for young women.
