Samuel Nartey George, the Minister nominee for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has defended his comments accusing Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo of delaying a Supreme Court case on the anti-LGBTQ Bill.

During his vetting on January 30, Sam George insisted that his remarks were made in good faith, arguing that the Chief Justice had the power to expedite the case but failed to do so.

He previously led a demonstration in October 2024, demanding a timetable for the hearing.

Pressed by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, he maintained that his criticism was constructive, adding that public officials, including the Chief Justice, are accountable for their actions.

However, Afenyo-Markin questioned whether George's remarks were fair, given that he was not directly involved in the case.
