Mpraeso MP Davis Ansah Opoku has criticized Minister Samuel Nartey George.
He is upset about the termination of nearly 100 employees at Ghana Post.
Opoku questioned the reasons behind these dismissals. He believes they unfairly target individuals who followed the proper recruitment process.
“I think the minister is overstepping his bounds,” he said on Eyewitness News.
He wonders if this reset is necessary, especially for those employed before December 7.
The dismissed employees were let go under the minister’s directive. Samuel George cited irregularities in their recruitment as the reason.
He claims this move aims to streamline operations within the ministry and its agencies.
However, Opoku disagrees with this reasoning. He emphasizes that these were not political appointments.
“These are persons who went through proper HR processes,” he stated.
He questions what precedent this sets for employment in the country.
