Minister for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, Hon. Sam George, has cautioned Ghanaians against fraudulent job offers falsely attributed to government officials.
Speaking in Parliament, he revealed a recent case where someone impersonated him to offer fake immigration jobs.
He emphasized that no MP or minister would directly offer employment via social media, urging the public to stay vigilant.
Highlighting the rise in online fraud, Sam George expressed frustration with Facebook’s failure to curb fake accounts, noting that even verified users struggle to remove impersonators.
He called for stronger digital security measures and urged Ghana to champion a continent-wide data protection framework to combat cyber fraud effectively.
