Senior lawyer and former Council of State member, Sam Okudzeto, has dismissed calls for the removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, insisting he has done nothing wrong.
His remarks come amid internal police grievances over alleged unfair promotion denials and restrictions on media engagements by regional and district commanders.
A Kumasi High Court recently dismissed a case by 40 officers challenging their stalled promotions.
In an interview with 3FM, Okudzeto described Dampare as "levelheaded and strict in doing the right thing," cautioning against unnecessary leadership changes after elections.
While some government officials have expressed dissatisfaction with Dampare’s leadership, the final decision rests with President Mahama.
