Sammi Awuku appointed Vice President, SME Global for Africa

Former NPP National Organiser and Akuapem North MP, Sammi Awuku, has been appointed Vice President of SME Global in charge of Africa.

His appointment, confirmed in a letter dated March 10, 2025, was signed by Lilia Heitz, Secretary General of SME Global under the International Democracy Union (IDU).

SME Global, the trade and economic arm of IDU, champions SME growth worldwide through policy advocacy and business networking.

Awuku will lead efforts to support African SMEs, push for regulatory reforms, and enhance entrepreneurship on the continent.

His new role positions him among top global policymakers, working alongside leaders from Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, the UK, and Argentina to advance SME-friendly policies and economic transformation.
