Michael Omari Wadie, former Vice National Chairman of the NPP, criticized GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi. He accused Gyamfi of using money to silence critics. Wadie claimed this tactic deflects attention from national issues, like Ghana's flooding.
In an interview on Original TV with Kwaku Owusu Adjei, Wadie made his allegations. He suggested that Gyamfi gives dollars to influential people to ignore serious concerns. “The flooding issue will soon be resolved,” he said sarcastically. “Not through plans or solutions, but by distributing dollars.”
Wadie did not provide evidence for his claims. However, he insisted that Gyamfi and the NDC leadership prefer "buying silence" over real solutions. He noted this approach has been common since the NDC took power.
“This is how they operate—distract, pay off, and move on,” he stated. “There’s no real commitment to solving Ghanaians' root issues.” As the rainy season begins, flooding remains a significant concern in urban areas like Accra. Poor drainage systems and unplanned settlements worsen the problem each year.
