Sammy Gyamfi did nothing wrong – Upper East NDC Communications Officer

Jonathan Abdulai Salifu is the Upper East Regional Communications Officer for the NDC. He has commented on the dollar gift controversy involving Sammy Gyamfi and Nana Agradaa. Gyamfi is the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board.

Salifu spoke on Citi Eyewitness News’ Point Blank on May 15. He downplayed the issue, saying it lacked merit from the start. He believes it will not lead to significant consequences.

He stated, “To some of us, we knew the matter wasn’t going to go anywhere.” Salifu defended Gyamfi’s actions, claiming they did not violate public service rules.

He said, “What did he do? You can read the Code of Conduct.” He noted that there is nothing in it prohibiting small gifts.

Salifu also dismissed claims that the gift was lavish or inappropriate. He argued that Gyamfi did not present it in an extravagant manner.
