Sammy Gyamfi is already doing wonders – Mahama applauds CEO of Ghana Goldbod

President John Dramani Mahama praised Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana GoldBoard. He called Gyamfi's start impressive.

Mahama spoke about the GoldBoard shortly after its launch. He said, “Mr. Sammy Gyamfi is already doing wonders.”

The Ghana GoldBoard was launched on April 2, 2025. It was formerly known as the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC). The agency aims to regulate gold trading, especially in small-scale mining.

Despite being new, GoldBoard is making significant progress under Gyamfi’s leadership.

It has started new systems to track and manage gold exports efficiently. This includes efforts to combat illegal smuggling and reduce revenue loss.

The agency is gaining trust from miners and exporters alike. Its focus on transparency and accountability addresses many sector issues.

Insiders report that tighter oversight and better recordkeeping are boosting export revenue already.
