Dr. Kabiru Tia Mahama, MP for Walewale, has spoken out. He supports the Minority Caucus's call for action against Sammy Gyamfi. Gyamfi is the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board.
The call comes after a viral video surfaced. In it, Gyamfi gives money to Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, known as Nana Agradaa. This occurred during a public event.
On Channel One Newsroom, Dr. Kabiru expressed concerns about cash gifts in foreign currency. He believes this undermines the integrity of the Ghanaian cedi and raises economic issues.
He stated that Gyamfi’s actions violate the President’s code of conduct for public officials. The Minority insists he should face consequences.
Dr. Kabiru referenced Cecilia Dapaah's resignation as a precedent. He noted that if Dapaah was held accountable, so should Gyamfi.
He emphasized that accountability must be consistent across all political figures. "We cannot measure Cecilia Dapaah by one standard and Gyamfi by another," he said.
