Samsam residents lament deplorable roads, demand urgent fix

Residents of Samsam, in the Ga West Municipality, are frustrated. Their roads are in poor condition. This has severely affected their daily lives and economic activities.

The bad roads hinder transportation and impact education and commerce. Abigail, a teacher who has lived there for three years, shared her experience. "It’s difficult to get a car to work," she said.

She noted that many teachers leave due to the road conditions. This leads to challenges in the education sector. "Teachers resist staying here because of the poor roads," she explained.

On Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily, Abigail pleaded for government help. "We need better roads so we can work effectively," she added.

Drivers also share these concerns. Samuel Appiah has driven in the area for nine years. He said, "The road used to be good, but now it damages our cars."

He called for urgent government intervention. "Students and workers struggle to find cars in the morning," he lamented.

J.B. Dankwa, the Assembly Member for Kono Electoral Area, acknowledged some construction efforts. However, he admitted challenges remain. "There is a contractor working on the road," he stated.

Dankwa expressed gratitude for government intervention but noted ongoing issues. People still queue early without available cars.

He highlighted the economic toll on commuters as well. "Poor roads increase passenger costs," he said. He urged faster action from contractors to complete the road improvements.
