Sarkodie’s stylist expresses frustration over artistes throwing costumes during performances

Fashion stylist and creative director Trendy Rail has expressed her concerns about a troubling trend in the music industry. Many stylists find this trend disheartening and financially straining.

Trendy Rail criticized artists for throwing costumes into crowds during performances. She spoke on The Chat, a show on Channel One TV, hosted by Ekow Koomson. This practice affects stylists who work hard behind the scenes to shape artists' images.

While it may seem fun for fans, Trendy Rail highlighted the significant costs involved. The loss of these costumes impacts stylists both financially and professionally.

She shared an incident involving Sarkodie at his 2022 Rapperholic concert. During his performance, he threw a red designer jacket into the crowd. Trendy Rail noted that this jacket was worth £3,000 to £4,000.

Losing such expensive items is painful for stylists who curate these looks. "Some clothes can cost between £8,000 and £10,000 if custom-made," she explained. Artists often don’t see anything wrong with throwing costumes, but it upsets stylists like her.

Trendy Rail is known for her flair and innovative styling concepts. She has built a reputable name across Africa by working with top acts like Sarkodie, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, and Kidi. She has also styled respected figures like media personality Anita Erskine.
