Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a former MP and NPP flagbearer hopeful, spoke at the University of Cape Coast. He addressed students at a TESCON event in the School of Graduate Studies Auditorium.
Agyapong urged students to focus on their future. He emphasized the importance of vision, financial discipline, and bold decisions. He encouraged them to avoid distractions from temporary pleasures or societal pressures.
He referenced businessman Alfred Obeng as an example. “Have a vision that looks ahead five to ten years,” he advised.
Agyapong reminded students that success is not easy. “Anyone who tells you life will be easy is not truthful,” he cautioned.
He advised prioritizing saving over spending on luxury items. “Postpone spending today and save for tomorrow,” he said.
He warned against being swayed by peers wearing expensive clothes. “Don’t spend your last money just to fit in,” he urged.
Agyapong stressed that saving is only part of the journey. Calculated risks are essential for turning savings into wealth.
“When you’ve saved enough, start taking risks,” he said. He concluded with his daughter's words: "The future belongs to risk takers."
