Stakeholders and implementers of the Gulf of Guinea Northern Region’s Social Cohesion (SOCO) Projects in Northern Ghana have made a request. They want the World Bank to scale up SOCO. This would allow it to serve rural communities more effectively.

They noted that SOCO has positively impacted lives in Northern Ghana over the past two years. Their statement was made during a meeting in Tamale on Friday. Mr. Robin Mearns, the Global Director for Social Development at the World Bank, attended this meeting.

Mr. Mearns was visiting the region for two days. His purpose was to assess the progress of SOCO projects.
