The Scenes of Yesteryears (SOY) Museum opened on Monday. It is located in Gomoa Potsin, Central Region. The inauguration emphasized the need for Ghanaians to invest in tourism. This investment can help promote economic growth.
The SOY Museum is a private facility. Its goal is to preserve Ghanaian cultural heritage. Dr. Akua Owusuaa Amartey is the CEO of the museum. She noted that tourism opportunities are not fully explored or invested in.
The museum features sculptures that tell stories of daily life in Ghana's past. These stories span from sunrise to sunset. The exhibits also cover the history of the slave trade.
