School Feeding Boss applauds Mahama for paying caterers

Hajia Fati Forgor is the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP). She thanked the government, led by President John Dramani Mahama. The government released funds to pay caterers' outstanding arrears across all 16 regions.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) fully paid the 31 days of arrears. This payment covers the First Term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

In a statement from Accra, Hajia Fati Forgor highlighted ongoing changes in the GSFP. The MoGCSP supervises these efforts to decentralize operations. They aim to improve food quality and ensure timely payments to caterers.

She also expressed gratitude to development partners for their support. Their collaboration helps sustain the Programme.

Currently, the GSFP benefits over four million pupils in public basic schools. It operates in all 261 districts and aims to combat malnutrition. The programme also seeks to increase enrolment, attendance, and retention among students.
