Caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme have started receiving their long-overdue third-term salaries, according to Nana Amoh Otu Sekyi, National President of the School Feeding Caterers Association.

This follows a promise by Dakoa Newman, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, to settle the payments.

Some caterers accessed their funds on December 31 and January 1, despite challenges posed by bank holidays and limited banking services in rural areas.

Nana Sekyi assured that all caterers should receive payment alerts by January 2 or later in the week.

She also revealed plans to address outstanding salaries from 2019, expressing optimism after discussions with the programme's chief accountant.

Further updates are expected in the coming week.
