The Ashanti Regional branch of the Progressive School Feeding Caterers Association Ghana is threatening to strike due to reduced payments and unpaid arrears.

They claim authorities paid them GH₵1.20 per pupil instead of the approved GH₵1.50. Despite protests, caterers have only seen a partial increase from GH₵1 to GH₵1.50 per child.

They demand the government pay the 30 pesewas difference and settle second-term arrears by July 12, 2024, and third-term grants before the next academic year.

The group also highlights issues of delayed payments, underpayments, and demands for tax certificates.
