Security forces to be deployed at borders to prevent grain smuggling – Nitiwul

Defense Minister Dominic Nitiwul has announced that the government will deploy security personnel to border towns, particularly in the northern regions, to prevent the smuggling of grains to neighboring countries.

This measure is part of a broader ban on grain exports aimed at avoiding potential food shortages due to recent droughts.

Nitiwul emphasized the need for citizens to support the security efforts by reporting any suspicious activities, stressing that the move is crucial to protect the country’s food supply and ensure the well-being of all Ghanaians.
