The Sekondi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has announced plans to seize stray cattle and prosecute their owners for violating the 2017 Control of Livestock bylaw.

In a statement, the Assembly directed cattle owners to remove their livestock from the streets by Monday, February 17, 2025.

The operation to impound stray cattle will begin on February 19, 2025.

Owners have until February 14 to contact the Environmental Health Unit for guidelines on keeping livestock within the metropolis.

The move aims to enforce order and prevent the public nuisance caused by roaming cattle.
