Blay Nyameke Armah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi, has proposed relocating the statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo from the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi-Takoradi to his hometown, Kyebi.
Armah argues that Akufo-Addo's contributions to the Western Region do not warrant such recognition.
Speaking to Oyerepa TV, he questioned the former president's legacy in the region, stating, “What did Nana Addo do for us in the Western Region to deserve a statue there?”
He also criticized the decision as self-serving and emphasized that regional priorities should take precedence over personal glorification.
