Blay Nyameke Armah, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, plans to take legal action. He is responding to allegations from members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). They have linked him to a $350 million cocaine bust.
This case began with an operation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). On March 25, officers intercepted a tipper truck at Pedu Junction in Cape Coast. They found about 3.3 tonnes of cocaine hidden under sand. The truck was on its way to Accra from the Western Region.
Since the seizure, Mr. Armah has been mentioned in connection with this case. However, he denies any involvement. In an interview with Citi News, he stated his intention to report this matter to the Speaker of Parliament for investigation.
"I have no knowledge about anything like that," he said. He first heard about these allegations from Hon. Ntim Fordjour. The claims suggested that a known Parliamentary Candidate in the Western Region was involved.
On Monday, Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, an NPP communicator, made similar allegations against him. Mr. Armah emphasized that his legal action will target all responsible parties.
"The writ will target those who made the allegation and their platforms," he stated.
