Chairman Wontumi Criticized by Prominent Preacher
A prominent preacher has spoken out against Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako. He is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The preacher advised him to remain silent about his actions and words. Instead of seeking sympathy from Ghanaians, he should face the consequences alone.
The preacher, known as Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie or Saint Sark, expressed that Wontumi should be thankful. He noted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has treated him leniently. This is in contrast to how Wontumi spoke about John Dramani Mahama when he was in opposition. Saint Sark emphasized the importance of being decent in speech, as accountability will come.
During a press conference in Kumasi, Saint Sark urged people to stop complaining about Wontumi. He believes Wontumi has gone too far with his negative remarks against President Mahama and Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang. He suggested that they should consider suing Wontumi for defamation.
On the topic of foreign exchange rates, Saint Sark highlighted recent improvements under the NDC government. He encouraged the NPP to recognize these measures instead of criticizing them unfairly. He stated that foreign exchange performance is crucial for measuring government success.
Saint Sark insisted that praise should be given when it is due. He acknowledged that the Cedi's performance against major currencies results from NDC policies. Regarding restructuring within the NPP, he called for an overhaul but warned against selfish individuals within the party.
He also cautioned MP Vincent Assafuah from Old Tafo Constituency to be careful regarding Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo's issues. Saint Sark believes Assafuah has a bright political future ahead and should avoid actions that could harm it.
