“Shocking, scary and a major National Security scandal” – Ntim Fordjour reacts to Adu Boahene’s revelations

Rev Ntim Fordjour, the Assin South MP, has responded to Kwabena Adu-Boahene. Adu-Boahene is the former Director of the National Signals Bureau (NSB). He is currently held in EOCO cells.

Fordjour called Adu-Boahene's revelations shocking and scary. He described them as a major National Security scandal. He believes taxpayers deserve a thorough investigation into Adu-Boahene’s alleged financial misconduct.

In a post on X, Fordjour expressed his concerns. He mentioned several large sums of money linked to political activities. These include 8.3 million cedis for the NDC during the 2024 election campaign.

He also noted 960,000 cedis for the Defence and Interior Committee in 2020/21. This was for passing legislation related to national security. Additionally, he pointed out 5.135 million cedis spent on President Mahama’s aides in December 2024.

Adu-Boahene recently provided a breakdown of the alleged GH¢49 million theft. He claimed that GHC5.1 million was used to buy three vehicles for President Mahama. The vehicles included two Nissan Patrols and one Land Cruiser.

He stated that this money was paid to a special aide of Mahama. Furthermore, he alleged that GH¢960,000 was used to pay members of Parliament's Defence and Interior Committee.

Adu-Boahene also accused an opposition party of receiving GHS 8.3 million from the stolen funds. This money was allegedly used to support election results collation.

Currently, Adu-Boahene has been remanded by an Accra High Court for seven working days. The court wants time for the Attorney General to prepare witness statements against him. He will remain in custody at EOCO during this period.
