‘Side chick’ Deborah Adablah jailed for 45 days in Nsawam prison

The Accra High Court has sentenced Deborah Seyram Adablah to 45 days in jail. She is a former National Service personnel involved in a lawsuit with banking executive Ernest Kwasi Nimako.

The court issued a bench warrant for her arrest. This was due to comments she made about Judge John Bosco. She was found guilty of defaming the court by accusing the judge of bias and unethical conduct.

Deborah questioned the integrity of Ghana’s judiciary. She described the contempt proceedings as “dead on arrival.”

Previously, she filed a lawsuit against her ex-partner, Ernest Kwasi Nimako. She accused him of breaking promises made during their relationship. These included financial support, rent for three years, and other commitments.

In 2023, the court dismissed her case. The ruling stated that their relationship was based on immoral and illegal acts. The court ordered her to return a disputed vehicle and awarded costs against her.

On May 16, 2023, Deborah was ordered to surrender the vehicle but reportedly defied this order. After learning about the bench warrant, she reacted publicly.

She claimed she had been unaware of the warrant until recently. Deborah stated she would not run away from the situation and would appear in court.

She expressed frustration over being labeled an insulter for speaking out against the judge's ruling. Deborah emphasized that taxpayers fund government officials and deserve better treatment.

In summary, Deborah Seyram Adablah has been jailed for contempt after criticizing a judge's actions in her case against Ernest Kwasi Nimako.
