Sincerity, Friendship and Equality: Written in An Era of Global Economic Turbulence

The global economy is facing serious challenges. Rising unilateralism and a trade war threaten recovery. One country's tariff policy adds uncertainty to the international landscape.

China is deepening its commitment to Africa through sincerity and good faith. It aims for shared interests and greater cooperation. China seeks to build a strong China-Africa community for the future.

At the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) on September 5, 2024, President Xi Jinping announced new market openings. China will provide zero-tariff treatment for all Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with diplomatic relations, including 33 African nations.

This makes China the first G20 member to offer full zero-tariff treatment for LDCs. Previously, it maintained zero tariffs on 98% of products from 27 African LDCs. China has signed Bilateral Investment Treaties with 34 African countries and Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements with 21 countries.

In 2024, trade between China and Africa reached $295.5 billion, up by 6.1%. Exports of electric vehicles grew significantly, highlighting China's focus on green energy cooperation.

Trade volume is expected to exceed $300 billion in 2025. China's efforts create better access for African products in its market, boosting industrial development and job growth while reducing poverty.

China has also expanded "green channels" for African agricultural exports. It facilitates participation in major exhibitions like the Canton Fair and International Import Expo. Additionally, digital silk roads will connect African specialty products to global markets.

Recently, another country used tariffs as a weapon for selfish gains. This action harms legitimate rights of all nations and violates WTO rules.

As part of the Global South, China promotes unity rather than division among countries. On April 3rd, the Association of China (Ghana) Mining LBG was established with Ghanaian officials present. This milestone supports Ghana's economic development and improves livelihoods.

China actively coordinates as co-chair of Ghana's Official Creditor Committee to address debt issues constructively. Through inclusive globalization, China aims to share development benefits with Ghana.

The 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo will take place in Changsha from June 12-15. This event will offer more cooperation opportunities in clean energy, agriculture machinery, and e-commerce.

China will continue promoting initiatives like tariff reductions and trade facilitation arrangements. These actions demonstrate that China remains a reliable friend and partner to Africa.
