Sod-cutting for new Accra-Kumasi Expressway set for early next year – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has announced a new project.

A feasibility study and design for the Accra-Kumasi Expressway will begin soon. This project is crucial for improving transportation in Ghana.

During a visit from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, President Mahama shared the news. He stated that work on the expressway will start early next year. This will be part of the Big Push Infrastructure Programme.

“I am happy to report that we will soon undertake this study,” he said. The President hopes to cut the sod for construction early next year.

The expressway aims to connect Ghana’s two largest cities: Accra and Kumasi. It is expected to reduce travel time and enhance road safety. Additionally, it will stimulate economic activity along the route.

This project is part of a larger government effort to improve infrastructure nationwide. It shows a commitment to modernizing Ghana’s road network and boosting regional development.
